I have always perceived the world not as a photographic reality, but rather as lines that outline physical shapes. Because of this, as a designer, I am fascinated with how a single simple element like a line can express so many different things, and how collections of lines can create shapes, forms and beautiful motions. Locus shows moments of motion that convey this vision.</span></p>david venturahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15858652773225297953noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3251677524628962855.post-41648721160952008562011-02-28T11:52:00.015+00:002011-02-28T12:20:01.216+00:00<iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/20412632?byline=0&portrait=0&style="color=222222" width="550" height="309" frameborder="0"></iframe><br /><br /><p style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(160, 160, 149); white-space: normal; line-height: 0px; font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:15px;">This project explores the invisible terrain of WiFi networks in urban spaces by light painting signal strength in long-exposure photographs.<br />A four-metre long measuring rod with 80 points of light reveals cross-sections through WiFi networks using a photographic technique called light-painting.</span></p>david venturahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15858652773225297953noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3251677524628962855.post-54833767273247848572010-03-17T19:26:00.004+00:002010-03-17T19:37:07.496+00:00<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 134, 201); white-space: normal; line-height: 24px; font-weight:bold; font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:20px;">SONGDO </span><p></p><object width="550" height="309"><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><param name="movie" value="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=10032207&server=vimeo.com&show_title=0&show_byline=0&show_portrait=0&color=00adef&fullscreen=1"><embed src="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=10032207&server=vimeo.com&show_title=0&show_byline=0&show_portrait=0&color=00adef&fullscreen=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" width="550" height="309"></embed></object><p style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(160, 160, 149); white-space: normal; line-height: 24px; font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:15px;"><br />ANTI VJ- an audiovisual performance, August 2009<br />New Songdo city, South Korea.</span></p>david venturahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15858652773225297953noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3251677524628962855.post-79546450317642799752009-11-03T01:45:00.001+00:002009-11-03T01:47:35.922+00:00<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 134, 201); white-space: normal; line-height: 24px; font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-weight:bold; font-size:20px;">"How it would be, if a house was dreaming" </span></p><object width="550" height="309"><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="movie" value="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=5677104&server=vimeo.com&show_title=0&show_byline=0&show_portrait=0&color=00adef&fullscreen=1" /><embed src="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=5677104&server=vimeo.com&show_title=0&show_byline=0&show_portrait=0&color=00adef&fullscreen=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" width="550" height="350"></embed></object><p style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(160, 160, 149); white-space: normal; line-height: 24px; font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:15px;">The conception of this project consistently derives from its underlying architecture - the theoretic conception and visual pattern of the Hamburg Kunsthalle. The Basic idea of narration was to dissolve and break through the strict architecture of O. M. Ungers "Galerie der Gegenwart". Resultant permeabilty of the solid facade uncovers different interpretations of conception, geometry and aesthetics expressed through graphics and movement. A situation of reflexivity evolves - describing the constitution and spacious perception of this location by means of the building itself.
